Hi, I’m Stephanie! I’m a wife, mom of 2, and founder of Glasswing Doula Services

My name is Stephanie and I am originally from Texas, I’ve also lived in South Carolina for about 3 years which was a beautiful experience. I made some amazing connections with the sweet families that I worked with there and still keep in touch and go back to visit them. I have lived Texas all of my life until moving to GVL mid pandemic and now we’re back! My family and I have been absolutely loving it! I am married with two vibrant, happy kids who really couldn’t be more different.

Some things you will learn about me are that I am a lifelong learner, I absolutely love to read. I crave the beauty of nature and the outdoors. Kayaking and berry picking are probably my favorite outdoor activities. I am a tea drinker, matcha, sweet, hot, iced, you name it! I am a nurturer at heart, I love taking care of others, and have discovered the wonders of self-care. Something I teach to the families I work with and also practice myself. I love gifting, the entire process from picking out something unique to curating a beautiful presentation and the joy it brings the recipient. I am truly in love with the Fall season, I deeply value family traditions and of course beautiful outdoor weather, so Fall is kind of the start of my favorite times of the year. Halloween & Christmas are major in our household. I love to bake, cook, and entertain. Giving my children diverse experiences has always been very important to me. I believe children learn so much by doing and seeing, so providing them with rich opportunities is a non-negotiable.

My journey to becoming a postpartum doula was a bit serendipitous. I previously studied early childhood development and received a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. Prior to becoming a postpartum doula, I was an elementary school teacher for 5 years. At the end of my 5th year teaching, I had my son after a very difficult pregnancy and birth at which point, I decided to stay home with him. Through my own experiences during pregnancy and the postpartum period, I became enthralled with the importance of education and self-advocacy in the world of women’s health, both physical and mental. I began helping to support many of my friends as they starting having their first babies. It was the best feeling in the world to help them, and I also felt rewarded in doing so. I supported them through the common challenges of the postpartum period and was there to witness them falling in love with that season instead of, at times, feeling overwhelmed.  I soon learned about the role of a postpartum doula, and there my passion was discovered. I absolutely love the thought of being able to encourage, nurture, and educate women and families during this precious season of life.

Since starting to work as a postpartum doula professionally, I have only fallen more in love with this work. It has been an amazing experience working with each and every family. I hope to leave each one more rested, nourished, and equipped with healthy routines than before I arrived.

Everyone Deserves Postpartum Care

Of course! My husband, daughter, and son are so supportive and fun. We love to spend time out in nature making memories together!

These guys are eveything to me!

  • Cookie Decorating

I love baking and decorating custom sugar cookies! Truly I love to bake and cook in general.

I guess you could say cookie decorating is a little hidden talent that I have.

I can’t think of anyone else that has the heart, compassion and knowledge Stephanie does for working with new mothers.” -Jennifer D.
